Group Conduct Risk and Regulatory Compliance Director, Legal and General
Niamh Higgins is the Group Conduct Risk and Regulatory Compliance Director at Legal and General, an insurance and financial services company. She joined the Group in October 2017 and is responsible for ensuring that the Conduct Risk/ Conduct Regulatory Compliance Framework is fit for purpose, embedded and mitigates against potential customer harm/ poor customer outcomes.
 She is also responsible for the appropriateness and robustness of various frameworks, such as
Whistleblowing and Financial Crime, and ensuring our relationship with regulators is open and
proactive.
Prior to joining Legal and General, Niamh worked in senior regulatory compliance roles at HSBC and
RSA and as an advisor on regulatory compliance, good governance and risk management at PwC for
several years.
Niamh enjoys working with senior leaders to help them achieve strategic objectives in ways that are regulatory compliant. This sometimes includes engaging with the regulator on the unintended consequences of the regulatory framework.
Outside of work, Niamh enjoys making the most of her local surrounds, whether getting out and
about on the Thames (sailing, stand-up paddle boarding or cruising) and walking in the Surrey hills.
