Global Head of Race at Work, Barclays
Kelechi Onukogu is the Head of the Global Race At Work agenda, in HR Talent Development and Inclusion. He joined Barclays 5 years ago and spent most of his time across the Investment Bank and Group Chief Controls Office, where he led multiple group-wide initiatives in the ‘Control Design and Execution Framework’ team.
Prior to Barclays, he spent nearly 4 years at JP Morgan in the Treasury business, leading the Liquidity Product Risk and Control team across EMEA. He spent 10 years at Deutsche Bank, where he kicked off his career working across the Finance, Global Markets and Corporate Finance businesses. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant, a member of Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments and a senior risk and control expert.
Kelechi played a pivotal role in creating, and until this year, co-chairing, the UK Barclays Black Professional Forum (BPF), which is part of the Embrace multicultural employee network and won the ‘Inclusion Champion’ category in the 2019 Citizenship and Diversity Awards. He is very active in driving and delivering initiatives to attract, develop, retain and enable the promotion of talented people, especially of black origin.
